A significant water leak was reported at Salto del Agua Metro Station in Mexico City, affecting services. Authorities are currently addressing the issue, highlighting the importance of accurate information amidst ongoing water shortages.


Water Leak Causes Disruption at Salto del Agua Metro Station

A water leak near the Salto del Agua station of Line 8 of the Mexico City metro generated reports on social media. Several users shared photos and videos of water falling on a platform, which led to various speculations about the origin of the leak. The official metro account responded that they were already working to repair the leak, clarifying that it was occurring outside the transportation system, not inside as had been misunderstood.

"A water leak is present outside the Salto del Agua station of Line 8, causing water to fall on the platform. Avoid misinformation and do not share false information," the Metro informed on social media.

Online users detailed that the leak originated at the corner of the church on the median of Arcos de Belén avenue with Eje Central Lázaro Cárdenas. The corresponding authorities were informed and confirmed that they were addressing the situation in collaboration with Civil Protection and Sacmex personnel.

On the other hand, regarding service hours during Holy Week, it was informed that the Metro will operate from 6:00 AM until midnight on Saturday, April 19, without allowing the entry of bicycles. Meanwhile, the Metrobús will extend its hours, starting from 4:30 AM until midnight on the same Saturday, and from 5:00 AM until midnight on Sunday, April 20, allowing the entry of bicycles all day.

Metro authorities assured the public that the water leak at the Salto del Agua station was being addressed and requested to avoid sharing false information that could generate misinformation among public transport users in Mexico City.
